Task force arrests 40 for DUI
KINGMAN - The Western Arizona DUI Task Force arrested 40 suspected drunk drivers between Aug. 15 and Labor Day.
The Task Force includes officers from the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, La Paz County Sheriff's Office, Kingman Police Department, Quartzsite Police Department, Bullhead City Police Department, the Arizona Department of Pubic Safety and Arizona Department of Game and Fish.
The Task Force had more officers on the streets this year, which resulted in 914 contacts and the 40 arrests.
The MCSO investigated 31 traffic crashes countywide over the holiday weekend. Only two of the accidents appear to be alcohol-related.
KPD had only one accident that appeared to be alcohol-related.
Several arrests this year had a blood alcohol concentration of more than .20 percent, increasing the average BAC level from .122 percent last year to .168 percent this year.
The Task Force also made 23 minor consumption of alcohol arrests this year.
