County fair themed 'It's a Jungle Out There'
KINGMAN - While Kingman might not be the concrete jungle, starting Thursday, the Mohave County Fairground will be its own wild kingdom.
The 62nd Annual Mohave County Fair, dubbed "It's a Jungle Out There," kicks off Thursday and continues through Sunday.
The fair located at the Mohave County Fairgrounds, 2600 Fairgrounds Blvd., opens every morning at 10. The fair is open until 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday with a 6 p.m. closing time on the last day.
Carnival rides will be open from 3 to 11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
Advance carnival tickets cost $17. They can be bought in from the Venture Club of Kingman by calling (928) 279-3469, Girl Scouts Troop No. 384 by calling (928) 757-7572 or the Desert Thumpers by calling (928) 530-5887.
With musical acts ranging from country to classic rock, the fair is packed with entertainment. Gun fighters Pistoleros & Rose will perform, as well as comedian Skip "The Balloon Man" Banks.
For a more local flair at the fair, there will be the 4-H livestock show, as well as an open horse show and gymkhana.
Entrance is free for children age 3 and younger. It is $2 for ages 4 to 11 and those 62 and older. For everyone else, admission is $5.
Thursday is Kids' Day, with free admission for children with their schools from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Friday, seniors age 62 and older will receive free admission from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
