This weekend, September 27 - 28th, St. Mary Roman Catholic Church will celebrate the Twenty-Sixth Sunday of Ordinary Time. The weekend Mass schedule is as follows:
Saturday, September 27th: 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM Reconciliation; 4:00 PM Vigil Mass - Dolan Springs; 6:00 PM Vigil Mass - Kingman
Sunday, September 28th: 8:00 AM Mass - Kingman; 10:30 AM Mass - Kingman
Meal Tickets for the Parish Picnic, which will be held at Centennial Park on October 12th, will be sold after all weekend Masses. Also, Prize Drawing Tickets for the many beautiful Gift Baskets ($1.00 ticket or 6/$5.00) will be sold. The Grand Prize this year is a 1988 Lincoln Town Car in mint condition! The tickets for this special Grand Prize are $10.00 each. Tickets for the car may be purchased after Masses as noted, or by calling Jerry Carreiro at 757-4193. Such a deal!!! A planning meeting will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 4th, at the Parish Center.
St. Mary Gift Shop will be open this Sunday, September 28th, after the 8 AM and 10:30 AM Masses. We are now able to accept debit and credit cards for your purchases. We are also able to process debit/ credit transactions for your contributions to St. Mary Church. Stop by and see some of our first shipments of Fall merchandise!
Anointing of the Sick will held on First Friday, October 3rd, at the 8 AM and 6 PM Masses. Practicing Roman Catholics who are 65 years of age or older, along with those who are seriously ill, will be anointed during Masses.
A First Saturday devotional Mass will be held on Saturday, October 4th, at 9 AM at St. Mary Church in Kingman.
Donations of canned and nonperishable food items will be collected next weekend, October 4-5th, at all Masses. The food will be distributed by the Kingman Area Food Bank to those in need. Your generosity during these difficult economic times will help many people!!!
A Pro-Life Rosary will be recited on Sunday, October 5th, immediately following the 10:30 AM Mass. This devotion on Respect Life Sunday will focus our prayer on life issues that affect our society and world. If you cannot recite the Rosary with us at the Church, please join us in prayer from whatever your your location!!!
Religious Education classes have begun! If you have not yet registered your child or youth (grades Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12), please call the Parish Center at 753-3359. For Elementary Religious Education, please speak with Grace McNair at 753-3359, extension 13. For Youth Ministry, please contact Ricardo Gonzalez, extension 21. Just a reminder: children and young people who have received Sacraments are encouraged to continue their participation, so that they may learn more about our Roman Catholic Faith!!!
The Holy Father has proclaimed this the Year of St. Paul. The final segment of the three-part DVD presentation on the life, ministry and suffering of St. Paul will be presented at St. Mary Church this Sunday, September 28th, located at the corner of 3rd and Springs Streets in downtown Kingman, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. There is NO CHARGE to attend. The program is appropriate for all ages.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society is requesting donations of clean, gently-used children's clothing. The demand for children's clothing suitable for school has been tremendous. If you can help, please bring your donated clothing to the St. Vincent Thrift Store, 218 E. Beale, from 9 AM to 3 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays. NOTE: If you have children's coats or jackets, please drop them off at Andy's Cleaners (see "Fall Coat Drive" item). Many thanks!!!
You can warm the hearts of those in need through the support of the Fall Coat Drive! The Optimist Club, in cooperation with the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Andy's Cleaners, is again requesting your donation of new or gently-used coats or jackets. Children's coats and jackets are especially needed. The collection of coats and jackets will be held during the entire month of September. Please drop off the coats and jackets at Andy's Cleaners, 2601 Stockton Hill Road. There is NO CHARGE to individuals dropping off donated coats and jackets. Note - coats and jackets ONLY, please. Each year, Andy's cleaners donates the cleaning and refurbishing of the coats for this charitable project.
Beginning October 1. 2008, the coats will be distributed FREE OF CHARGE to those in need at the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store from 9 AM to 2 PM on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The Knights of Columbus council #3145 sponsors a Boy Scout Troop in Kingman. The troop meets on Thursday evenings at 7 PM at the Knights of Columbus Hall, located at 2255 East Butler Avenue. Troop membership is open to all boys ages 12 through 18 years of age in the area regardless of which Church they attend. For information, contact the Parish Center.
