Letter: I support MCM, and I'm proud of it
This is in response to a recent letter by Dennis and Sandra Kaplan. First of all, the term militia refers to a military force composed of ordinary citizens to provide defense, emergency law enforcement or paramilitary service in times of emergency without being paid a regular salary or committed to a fixed term of service. The original Minutemen were the militia.
If someone is part of the Ron Paul movement and part of the Mohave County Minutemen, well, double good for them. They obviously care about this community and their country.
The Ron Paul supporters and MCM are fighting for patriotic causes and trying to make needed changes ... and you are at home, standing, passing judgments, waiting to "answer the call." You're not sure where that call is going to come from, but in case you haven't noticed, the phone has been ringing for a long time already. I suggest you take the little energy you used to incorrectly attack citizens who care and are active and do something constructive ... at the very least, try to get your facts straight.
Since you are at home waiting to "answer the call," you then probably have time to read in our Arizona Constitution that forming an unorganized militia is completely legal and part of our constitutional rights.
I'm a Golden Valley resident, Ron Paul supporter and MCM.
