Motorcyclist dies in hit-and-run
KINGMAN - Police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck who fled the scene of a fatal hit-and-run accident Monday afternoon.
The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Andy Devine Avenue. Lt. Rusty Cooper with the Kingman Police Department said the driver of the truck, described as a 45-50-year-old white male, was headed eastbound on Andy Devine Avenue when he made a left turn onto Fairgrounds Boulevard into the path of the path of a motorcyclist, who was headed west on Andy Devine Avenue.
The Kingman man on the motorcycle was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center, where he died 30 minutes later. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. He was 45.
Cooper said the truck is described as a blue, possibly 1960's model flatbed pickup. Evidence at the scene suggested that the truck would have a broken back tail light as a result of the accident, Cooper said.
