Tree planting planned for Arbor Week
KINGMAN - The public is invited to join the city of Kingman, the University of Arizona Mohave County School Gardening Program and the Cerbat Garden Club for the 2009 Arbor Day Tree Planting and Community Recognition at 10 a.m. March 28.
Trees will be planted on the east side of the Airway Underpass at the intersection of Andy Devine Ave. and Airway Ave.
All local businesses and individuals can participate in the Arbor Day celebration by donating for the school Arbor Day education and/or community tree planning projects to beautify Kingman landscapes. The city is asking for everyone's help to landscape the east sides of the Airway Underpass.
Since the 2002 Arbor Day Celebration, 150 trees have been planted locally to beautify Kingman's streets, parks, schools and homes.
The Arbor Day Poster Contest winners and community sponsors will also be recognized and awarded prior to the tree planting celebration.
