KINGMAN - Kingman Police arrested Michael J. Hefner, 28, of Kingman last Thursday on suspicion of felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft. At 11:50 p.m., officers responded to the Kingman Regional Medical Center Emergency Room on a report of Hefner having stolen medication and other medical supplies. The investigation revealed that Hefner was a companion of a woman being treated in the E.R. when he was observed taking assorted supplies. The items taken were non-narcotic but were considered medically controlled substances. Hefner was arrested and items were recovered from his person and from his vehicle, which included marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Joseph Paul Stever, 29 of Kingman Friday evening on suspicion of felony possession of drug paraphernalia. At 10:46 p.m., deputies contacted Stever as he was riding a bicycle in the 3700 block of Ryan Avenue. Stever told deputies that he had a BB gun on his right side in a holster. Deputies retrieved the BB gun. A search of Stever revealed a syringe and a plastic bag containing a white crystal residue. Stever was taken into custody without incident. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Walter Leon Murphy III, 51, of Kingman Saturday evening on suspicion of felony possession of dangerous drugs. At 10: 46 p.m., deputies contacted Murphy as he was walking in the 3800 block of Neal Avenue. A search of Murphy revealed a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Murphy was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report at the Mohave County Jail on Sunday regarding an assault on two detention officers by an inmate. At 2:23 p.m., deputies spoke with both detention officers. Deputies were advised that inmate Benny Lee Massey, 25, of Fort Mohave became combative when detention officers entered his cell. During the struggle, a detention officer received a laceration to his right elbow, was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center for treatment and was later released. Massey was charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault on a detention officer.
GOLDEN VALLEY - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Christopher Lee Holder, 23, of Kingman Sunday evening on suspicion of felony altering a vehicle identification number. As deputies were traveling east on Chino Drive, they observed two motorcycles heading toward their direction. As the motorcycles passed, deputies noticed the vehicles did not have license plates. At 5 p.m., deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 5200 block of Chino Drive and contacted both operators. While deputies were checking the motorcycles, they observed one of the bikes' VINs to be completely ground off, and the other bike's VIN appeared to have been altered. Holder advised that he bought both of the motorcycles in Kingman. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The vehicles were towed from the scene. Holder was also cited for no current registration, no valid driver's license and no insurance.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Ryan William Plesotis, 27, of Phoenix Monday morning on suspicion of felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies observed a truck parked in the desert with two men loading a quad in the bed of the truck. At 12:51 a.m., deputies stopped the men in the 3700 block of McVicar Avenue. One of the men advised deputies that he had a holstered gun. For officer safety, deputies confiscated the gun. Deputies got consent to search the vehicle. Deputies located a pipe with a usable amount of burnt marijuana inside the bowl. Plesotis allegedly advised that the pipe belonged to him. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
