Ida Dellia Wilcox Brechtel Peterson
Ida Dellia Wilcox Brechtel Peterson, born Dec. 20, 1921, passed away Jan. 26, 2009. She was a resident of Kingman for 20 years.
Ida was born in Clough, S.D., to Ilene M. Galligan and Winford Ozile Wilcox, who worked their Meade County ranch with their 11 children.
We love and dearly miss Ida, including sons, Jon Arthur (Elizabeth) Brechtel, Hot Springs, S.D., and Hubert Richard Brechtel, Abilene, Texas; sister, Cora Rottenbucher, Sturgis, S.D.; and brother, Faye (Gaye) Wilcox, Apache Junction.
Ida is missed by - through son Jon - great-granddaughters, Caitlin and Erin Brechtel and parents, Zac and Angie Brechtel; great-granddaughter, Emily; and great-grandson, Arthur Stetson and parents, Catherine Brechtel and Shawn Stetson; great-granddaughter, Sienna Brechtel and parents, Benjamin Brechtel and Emi Lambert; granddaughter, Vailferree Brechtel, and friend, Tim Fadness.
Ida is missed by - through son H. Richard - grandson, Marc Light.
Ida is missed by many relatives and worldwide friends including long-time friends, Margaret Brechtel Melby, Judy and Chuck Light and her "family" at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home in Hot Springs, S.D.
Preceding Ida in death, dear grandson, Clifton Light; husband, Paul Peterson; her parents and eight siblings.
At 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, Chaplain Lloyd Neilson will lead a memorial service at the State Veterans' Home, 2500 Minnekahta, Hot Springs. Afterwards at 2 p.m., her ashes will be buried with the love of her life, Paul, at the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, S.D. Then, please join together for luncheon at the Veterans Club, 868 Main St., Sturgis.
A memorial has been established in Ida's name to benefit the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home.
