The Summer Reading Game concludes on July 18, so there is still time to register and log your reading hours. Register at the library or on the Mohave County Library District Web site: Just click on the SRG logo on the left side of the page.

Keep track of your hours of reading and either log them online or report them to Cheryl. All ages are welcome to participate, and you can join SRG throughout the length of the program.

There are two more SRG presentations for kids ages 0 to 18 at the Valle Vista Library this month:

• Today at 1 p.m.: Eco-friendly recycling craft for the 4th of July! Make and decorate a tin-can luminary. All supplies and snacks provided.

• Thursday, July 9 at 1 p.m.: Make a coin wallet out of duct tape or felt. All supplies provided. This is also the closing party for SRG participants of all ages. The Friends of the Valle Vista Library will provide food and drinks.

There will be no adult craft program this month, but watch for announcement of the August adult program.

The board is in need a group of volunteers for a "good old-fashioned scrubbing." Please let any board member or any VVPOA employee know you're interested in volunteering for the cleaning crew and your name will be added to the list.

We'll schedule a kick-off meeting where we will post categories by cleaning task (vacuuming, windows, bathrooms, floors, etc.) and each volunteer will be able to sign up for the task they like best.

We'll need a total of 6-10 volunteers and we'll close the clubhouse one afternoon and knock it out in two to three hours time. We'll also form some ongoing teams to help support a continuous cleaning effort of our clubhouse.
