Office for Vets dedicated to Joe

Left: Pam Bibich accepts an honorary life membership to the Vietnam Veterans of America Saturday during the dedication ceremony of the new Joe Bibich Veterans Service Office in Golden Valley. Pam's late husband, Joe Bibich, served in Vietnam and earned a Bronze Star with a V for Valor and two Purple Hearts. Handing Pam the certificate is Gene Crego of VVA, and to the left is President Ralph McKie. Vietnam Veterans of America, Mohave County Chapter 975 will run the office. Pam expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying it "is a great honor for Joe and our family." Many city and county officials were present. State Representative Doris Goodale, Kingman Mayor John Salem and Lake Havasu Mayor Mark Nexsen received plaques of appreciation during the ceremony.

Later, free BBQ and drinks were made available to the crowd. The new veteran's office is open to all veterans. The VSO helps veterans fill out paperwork and apply for any benefits they may be eligible for, as well as providing vets with other information needs. Donations from the community and businesses for rent costs are always welcomed. It is located at 4225 Highway 68, Suite G, in Golden Valley. Hours are Wednesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call (928) 377-1101 for more information. McKie and Bibich reveal the new lettering in the window dedicating the veterans' office in Joe Bibich's honor.
