Letter: We need leaders with common sense

When my wife and I read the article "Path will close for landscaping work" in the May 5 Miner, we could not believe our eyes. To spend $100,000 on a bike path, while our I-40 road surface is in such need for repair, is in our opinion ridiculous.

Knowing that ADOT made such a decision is unbelievable. Surely such lunacy should be recognized as grounds for termination from state employment.

The specified improvements are for "landscape enhancement." How about roadway enhancement? Do any of our local politicians know about such decisions before it's too late to stop such expenditures?

If so, they should act. If not, they should find out how to get that insight.
