Kingman man found guilty of child molestation
KINGMAN - After a four day trial, a jury found a Kingman man not guilty of kidnapping and sexual conduct with a minor, but guilty of molestation of a child.
Joseph D. Whaley, 27, was arrested in July 2008 after a woman reported that he had molested her 9-year-old daughter.
The mother told detectives Whaley had left the residence on foot.
An attempt to locate was issued to area law enforcement.
Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Whaley following a nearly two-hour search.
Whaley's sentencing is set for June 24.
He could receive up to 12 years in prison.
