Theft suspect escapes after crash
Florida has active warrant for Louisiana man’s arrest
KINGMAN - Kingman Police officers are looking for the man who got away.
A theft suspect eluded officers after he crashed his vehicle into two poles and an electrical box on East Andy Devine Avenue. The suspect, Charles Scott Golden, 33, of Logansport, La., is still at large.
At 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, officers were called to a report of two men stealing gasoline from parked cars at a business in the 800 block of Andy Devine. Officers contacted Golden and a 19-year-old Texas man at the business.
They found that Golden had a felony warrant out of Florida for theft. When officers attempted to arrest him, he ran to his pick-up truck and drove westbound on Andy Devine.
Near the Mohave Museum of History and Arts, Golden lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a light pole, a power pole and an electrical box. He then fled on foot.
Golden is wanted for escape, resisting arrest, subsequent crash and theft. The Texas man was arrested for misdemeanor theft.
Golden is described as a white male, about 5-foot-6, 185 pounds with light brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt with writing on the front, blue jeans and a ball cap. He may have been injured in the crash.
The intersection of Beale Street and Andy Devine was closed for about seven hours while utility crews restored power.
