BULLHEAD CITY - The Bullhead City Police Department arrested two Las Vegas men who were in possession of approximately 2.6 pounds of cocaine. As part of an ongoing investigation, police received information that the suspects were driving from Las Vegas with a large amount of cocaine to sell in Bullhead City.
At 1 p.m. on Tuesday, the Bullhead City SWAT team detained the two suspects in the Sam's Club parking lot. The cocaine seized has an estimated street value of $117,000.
Jose Gaspar Chavez, 19, and his father, 44-year-old Martin Gaspar Chavez of Las Vegas, were arrested on suspicion of felony possession of narcotics for sale, transportation of narcotics, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both are illegal aliens and are currently in the Mohave County Jail in Kingman on immigration hold.
Agencies involved in this operation included: Bullhead City Police Department, Mohave County Sheriff's Office, Arizona Department of Public Safety, Drug Enforcement Administration, M.A.G.N.E.T., Fort Mojave Tribal Police Department, Gang & Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission, Lake Havasu City Police Department and Kingman Police Department.
