Kingman Middle School band students show off their awards received from the district's recital night on Feb. 12 at Kingman Middle School. Seventh- and eighth-grade musicians earned ratings of Superior and Excellent based upon a musical rubric assessing students' accuracy in pitch, rhythm, technique, interpretation and artistry. In addition, from auditions held during the week, 11 Kingman Middle School band students were also selected for the Northwest Arizona Middle School Music Region's Honor Band Festival to be held May 1-2 in Flagstaff. The regional event showcases the best of the best middle school musicians from across Northwest Arizona.
