With Halloween a success, it's now on to Christmas
Everyone who attended the Halloween party at the Clubhouse this past Saturday had a great time, and there were a lot of goodies for the children. Thanks to everyone who contributed candy, decorated a golf cart or helped out at the party.
I know it sounds early, but Christmas is just around the corner, so start planning for the annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 12. Any type of vehicle may be entered as long as it has lights. Following the parade, there will be a party at the Clubhouse with Mr. And Mrs. Claus. Contact a member of the Community Events Committee if you would like to enter the parade.
Bill and Carole McIntosh will host karaoke at the Clubhouse at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21. Even if you don't sing, come down and enjoy the entertainment.
New office hours went into effect Nov. 1 for the Valle Vista Property Owners Office. The office will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed Saturdays and Sundays. Weekend appointments may be scheduled by calling (928) 757-8703.
The Turn Restaurant will be serving Thanksgiving dinner from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thanksgiving day. The cost will be $12.99 per person and includes turkey with all the trimmings. Reservations for the dinner must be made by 3 p.m. Nov. 19.
The book discussion this month at the Valle Vista Library will be Nov. 12 at noon, and the book will be "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society."
The library will host Library Bingo as the adult activity this month at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18. The Children's Story Hour will be at 4:14 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, and the activity this month will be a sweet Thanksgiving treat. Children of all ages are invited to attend.
The Valle Vista Breakfast Club will meet for lunch at the Clubhouse at noon on Saturday, Nov. 14, then cruise to Hackberry afterwards.
The first dance exchange class will be held at the Clubhouse from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12. Vicki and Glenn Hoag would like to exchange dance lessons which will include East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, 2 Step, Waltz and Cha Cha. There will be a charge of $1 per person, and a minimum of four couples will be needed to continue the class.
The Ladies Dart League finished up the fall session this past Monday. First-place honors went to the team of Bobbie Hudgins, Irene Lewis, Venita Barnes and Doris Heesh. Most take outs went to yours truly with 20. The ladies will have a luncheon on Nov. 16 to end the session. The next session will start on Jan. 4 with drawing for teams and a practice session.
