Terry Wayne Bailey Sr.

Terry Wayne Bailey Sr., 54, of Kingman and formerly of Orland, Ind., was called upon by his Heavenly Father on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at approximately 3:45 a.m. at his home after recently being diagnosed with lung cancer. At his side were his loving wife, Jackie, and his cousin, Roberta Gentz. Terry remained positive through his illness.

He was born on Dec. 9, 1954, in Wauseon, Ohio, to Richard W. (deceased) and Joyce M. Bailey of Delta, Ohio. He married Jackie Lynn Shoemaker of Swanton, Ohio, on June 13, 1973. Together they had two children, Terry W. Bailey Jr., 35, of Butler, Ind., and Angel M. Lepley, 33, of Hudson, Ind. Terry was a very dedicated and hard-working man, loving father and the most amazing husband. He was a long time employee of Metaldyne, formerly Simpson Industries, of Edon, Ohio (1985-2001). Before moving to Arizona one year ago, Terry continued his employment at Angola Wire, Angola, Ind., from 2002-2008.

Terry was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 36 years, Jackie; his son, Terry (Crystal) Bailey Jr. of Butler; his daughter, Angel (Travis) Lepley of Hudson; and grandchildren, Katelyn Harvey, Kara and Kelsey Bailey of Butler, and Dominique Swiatkowski, Brittney, Jayson, Travis and Treyten Lepley of Hudson. He is also survived by his mother, Joyce Bailey; his sister, LuAnne (Lennie) Surgeson of Holland, Ohio; brother, Jimmy (Bonnie) Bailey of Wauseon; father and mother-in-law, Ronald Sr. and Shirley Shoemaker of Kingman, formerly of Swanton, Ohio; brother-in-law, Ronald Jr. (Brenda) Shoemaker of Delta, Ohio; and brother-in-law, Edward (Brenda) Shoemaker of Pomona, Calif.; and many other family and friends.

Terry's wishes are for his body to be donated to science to further help find a cure for cancer. He will then be cremated and his ashes spread over the mountains as he wished.

A celebration of Terry's life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, at his home in Kingman. Also, an open house will be held at a later date in Indiana.

The family is requesting those wishing to make a contribution in Terry's memory consider KRMC Hospice, Kingman, in care of Jackie Bailey, and/or his wife, Jackie, as she has been caring for Terry solely throughout his diagnosed cancer. Please send all contributions to 221 E. Spring St., Kingman, AZ 86401, and they will be forwarded.
