Letter of Thanks: To the community, from the Enchanted Paw
My name is B.J. Carbajal. I represent the The Enchanted Paw, located at 2180 Kingman Ave. I would like to thank our wonderful community for electing us to be the Business of the Year at the 2009 Andy Devine Days award ceremonies.
I was really touched and actually shocked to have received such an honorable award. I haven't even been able to hold my grand opening to date, which makes me proud to have this honor. I started working at the shop, when it belonged to Maxine Lawrence when it was Maxine's Plush Pooch, where I had worked my way up to kennel manager.
On Feb. 1, when Maxine decided to retire from the business, I again was honored by the option to purchase the facility, becoming the new generation of Maxine's Plush Pooch. Maxine has been my best friend and part of my life since I was just 7 years old, where I have gained a respect and knowledge for animals. I would like to thank Maxine for the greatest honor - and challenge - that I have ever faced in my life, for the trust that comes with her lifetime passion and the many years of her friendship. Thanks also to my staff for their many hours of hard work, to my children, Krystine, Anthony, Sharon, Courtney, and Destiny, for their hard work and helping me to spread my wings and soar like the eagle.
I would like to thank my parents, Larry and Sharon Butler, for their guidance, ideas and being the rock of my dreams, my clientele and the trust that is given to take care of their four-legged family members, to my great God above for giving me the strength and faith I need to continue this adventure in my life, to my family friends who never gave up on me, and to C.D. and Aleta Tyra for always believing in me. I just wish you were here to see me prosper, my great Grandad, may you always, R.I.P. Thank you, Kingman, and God bless every one!
May I remind you that the weather is changing, so think about getting your pets in for their final summer cuts soon.
