Johnny James Whitmore
Johnny James Whitmore, 68, of Kingman died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, in Kingman. He was born Dec. 18, 1940, in Henderson, Texas, to Jesse and Minnie Whitmore. He had two brothers and four sisters. He came to Kingman 10 years ago from Fresno, Calif.
He served in the U.S. Army, received an honorable discharge in 1963, and worked as a sprinkler fitter for Union Local 669.
John is survived by his wife, Carleen Whitmore of Kingman; three daughters, Kim Whitmore of Bakersfield, Calif., Carol Singer of Lake Isabella, Calif., and Denise McFiren of Fresno; and four sons, Johnny Whitmore Jr. of Bakersfield, Jesse Whitmore of Fontana, Calif., Ed McFiren of Fresno, and Richard McFiren of Portland, Ore. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
John loved to go yard saling with his best friend, Jim Williams. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
The service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave.
