KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jimmy Wayne Valadez, 39, for felony aggravated assault Tuesday afternoon after he got into a confrontation with another man. Trish Carter with the Mohave County Sheriff's Office said the confrontation began after a man allegedly observed Valadez throwing nails and screws in front of the man's mother's house. The man and Valadez are former roommates who reportedly have a long-standing dispute. The man followed Valadez in his car and the two argued at the intersection of Bank Street and Northern Avenue. Police say the man got out of his car and hit the hood of Valadez's car. Valadez, in turn, allegedly began spinning his tires and struck the man in the leg with the front left tire of his car. Valadez left the scene but was located in the 2900 block of Sierra Vista Avenue where police responded to the scene. Deputies observed the man's leg near his knee to have an abrasion and scuff marks on his pants leg, but Valadez denied hitting him. Carter said police observed nails and screws in front of the home of the man's mother. Valadez was arrested without incident and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The other man was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct. The Miner does not name those charged with misdemeanor crimes only.
