I-40 work ramping up
Kingman interstate access to be limited

KINGMAN - The Arizona Department of Transportation will begin to replace pavement on the Beale Street, Stockton Hill Road and Andy Devine Avenue traffic interchanges starting Monday evening.

Crews will fully close both entrance and exit ramps at these interchanges in a rolling schedule that will last through next Sunday morning.

The eastbound on and off ramps at Andy Devine Avenue will be the first to close, from 9 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday. The westbound Andy Devine ramps will follow Tuesday evening, again from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. schedule will continue for the westbound Beale St. ramps on Wednesday, the eastbound Beale St. ramps on Thursday, the eastbound Stockton Hill ramps on Friday and the westbound Stockton Hill ramps on Saturday. The closure schedule will complete at 6 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1.

ADOT will close the ramps using traffic control barriers and local law enforcement will be present for the safety of the crews working on the ramps. Clearly marked detours will be in place to direct motorists around closures.

Traffic will be detoured using alternate interstate entrance and exit ramps not under construction. Construction will be limited to the ramps, leaving the cross streets unaffected.

For more information and specific ramp closure detours, visit ADOT's Kingman District Web site at Changes to construction schedules may occur, and the ramp closure schedule is dependant upon a variety of factors such as weather and material availability.

The I-40 repaving work is scheduled for completion in November, though an exact date is still pending.
