County traffic control crews will be painting centerline striping on Temple Bar, White Hills, Chloride, Mineral Park and Ranch Roads, as well as Sundown Drive in SoHi and Bank Street and Northern Avenue in Butler this week.
In the Dolan Springs and Meadview areas, county crews will be blading roads. On the north end of Meadview, crews will be patching potholes and repairing shoulders. Blade trucks will also be active in the Golden Valley area. Adopt-A-Highway crews will be picking up litter along county roads for the next several weeks.
In Valle Vista, crews will be sweeping and cleaning roads, and work continues on realigning Dubois Road at the intersection of Interstate 40 and Blake Ranch Road.
A 1-cent per gallon gasoline tax may not sunset in 2013 as scheduled.
The Arizona House of Representatives Natural Resources and Rural Affairs Committee has proposed continuing the sales tax to 2018. The tax is used to clean up sites with leaking underground fuel tanks.
The bill to continue the tax has passed the Senate and is currently sitting in the House Rules Committee.
