The sisters enjoyed a potluck dinner and dessert before the ritual. The sisters are preparing for the annual Founder’s Day banquet at the Kingman Moose Lodge. The “Woman of the Year” and the “Pledge of the Year” were voted on during this meeting. Friday Afternoon Bridge Club: On April 16, the winners were: first place, Fran Kvale and Gladys Smith; second place, Kay Klaus and Jerry Lipson; and third place, J.T. Perkins and Jeanie Clegg.

Help Animals Lives Today: HALT Fundraiser/Treasure Sale to be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Petco's parking lot. There will be lots of great items: books, puzzles, women's/men's clothing, kitchenware, blankets, comforters, Christmas stuff, frames, electronics, barbeque items, tools, glassware! Too much to mention plus a little of this n' that! Donations are being accepted; please bring items to the Petco parking lot on Saturday and make sure items are priced. Kingman Art Alliance: The KAA had their annual spring art show at the Kathryn Heidenriech Adult Center last Saturday. The artists worked on various projects while visiting with people of the community. Refreshments were served, and artists gave pieces of artwork for a raffle. The proceeds will go to help with future shows. The artists who participated were Rob Riggs, Teri Merrill, Nancy Rembolt, Joe Tutrone, Meghan Marshall, Larry Marshall, Susie Green and Roxie Daniel. Many fine pieces of artwork went to new homes, and the artists want to thank the community of Kingman for their appreciation and attendance at the show. Thanks very much and see you in the fall.

Kingman Concert Band: There will be a Community Concert at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Mohave County Library, 3269 N. Burbank St. The Kingman Concert Band is a non-profit organization formed in 1999 with the purpose of providing free entertainment, "concert band in the park" music for our community.

Kingman Kutups: It's finally here! Our 30th Annual Spring Jubilee will be held this Friday and Saturday at the Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center, 1776 Airway Ave. Friday night's dance will begin with round dancing from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and square dancing from 7 to 9:30. A square dance workshop will be held Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and a round dancing workshop will be from 11 to 12:30. Saturday night dancing will begin at 6:15 with rounds until 6:45. We will present the Grand March at 6:45 led by our own Mohave County Supervisor Gary Watson and his wife Janet, the vice mayor of Kingman. The Saturday night square dance will be from 7 to 9:30. Our guest caller will be Lee Hailey from Glendale, and our guest round dance cuer will be Barbara Lopez from Prescott. We invite all square dancers in town or in the area to come and join with us, and anyone interested in watching a great club of dancers enjoy the great American pastime of square dancing. Kingman Mothers of Preschoolers: MOPS (www.mops.org) stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. Meetings are from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at St. Johns United Methodist Church, library and nursery, 1730 Kino Ave. The next meeting will be Monday. Kingman Pinochle Club: The winners on April 17 were: first, Charlene Graves; second, Jan Crosier; and third, Paul George.

Korean War Veterans Association of Mohave County: The Veterans will hold their meeting at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the VFW Post 10386, 3036 John L Ave. If this would be your first time, we will be happy to have you. You can enjoy an evening out by coming back after the meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. and listen to the "Buffalo Nickels" and their bluegrass music, while you are dining on barbecued chicken. Wednesday Party Bridge: The winners on April 14 were: first place, Elaine Laverne; second place, Mary Wallace; and third place, Nelson Gaska.
