Letter:Don't ask me again for money
Kingman folks have to have a second look at the sales tax hike proposal. It's supposed to benefit schools. Seems like a few years ago, we voted in a bond issue because of dire need from Kingman Unified School District, which amounts to a few hundred dollars a year on our property taxes.
This "dire" need translates into a couple softball fields and another sports field plus whatever other needed things they did with money that we were graciously thanked for.
I participated in sports in school, and it was a good thing, but folks, taxpayer money for "wouldn't it be nice" things, I don't think so!
Sorry, folks. Those fields were definitely not what I would vote to spend my property tax dollars on with all the other needs this community has. Now you have higher maintenance costs, fields that will sit because of liability issues all summer, and you are still in "dire" straits because of the budget.
Well, being on a fixed income, I'm not likely to believe and agree to any more of your requests for my money. Sorry.
