Letters:I could use your support on May 18
Hello! My name is Erin Cochran and I am running for Kingman City Council. I am writing a letter to the editor to ask for the vote of the Kingman residents.
Since I moved to Kingman in March of 2003, I have become a part of our community in many ways. I was the president of the Student Government Association for three years at MCC, I have been a board member and sponsorship coordinator for Northern Arizona Youth Soccer League for four years, I am on the Clean City Commission, and I have helped to plan many fundraisers for non-profit organizations in Kingman.
I now want to take my involvement a step further. I will offer the City Council a different way to look at issues today. I would like to see the creation of a youth council. This does not have to be funded, as we can teach these young adults skills such as fundraising, organization and how their city works! It is important that we involve our youth in our community and our community in our city.
I would like to see impact fees lowered, not eliminated. They have helped pay for many things that would have otherwise come from the pockets of our citizens. I am definitely a pro-growth candidate. I support the Kingman Crossing project, 3,000 new jobs can't be a bad thing! I support bringing more educational opportunities to Kingman. More educated citizens means higher-paying jobs. Economic development is an important key to our future.
I am asking for your vote on May 18. I will work hard to ensure a good future for all of Kingman's residents. Anyone with any questions can contact me at email@example.com. I look forward to serving all of you and representing what the people want!
