Parents arrested after kids found in 'deplorable' home
KINGMAN - Two parents were arrested and their three children taken into protective custody this week after police found what they called "deplorable" conditions inside the family's home.
Kingman Police detectives served a search warrant at the home of William M. Meyers and Jessica M. Meyers, both 26, in the 2700 block of E Suffock Avenue Wednesday.
The warrant was the result of an investigation involving allegations of sexually explicit images of children being downloaded on a computer, according to Lt. Rusty Cooper.
When police went to the home to execute their search, they found animal feces, trash, bugs and other unsafe conditions, Cooper said.
Child Protective Services were called and ultimately took custody of the Meyers' three children, 3-year-old twins and a 2-year-old.
William and Jessica Meyers were later booked into the Mohave County Jail on three felony counts of child abuse.
A forensic exam of the couple's computer is being conducted and child exploitation charges are pending.
