Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lomita Street and Lass Avenue around 11:26 a.m. and contacted Matteson, the driver. A records check showed Matteson to have a suspended driver's license. He was arrested without incident. A vehicle search revealed a marijuana cigarette, a black digital scale and a plastic bag containing a white crystal residue.

KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Robert Jay Knipe, 51, of Golden Valley Wednesday for felony aggravated DUI. Deputies responded to an intoxicated subject passed out in a vehicle in front of a convenience store in the 3600 block of Highway 68 around 6:35 p.m. Deputies contacted the reporting party who said a man was passed out inside a vehicle but had woken up and left about two minutes prior. Deputies were given a license plate number of the vehicle. A computer check showed the vehicle to be a 2001 Dodge Dakota registered to Knipe. Deputies located the vehicle traveling on Cross Ranch Road towards Highway 93 and attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle continued traveling. The vehicle stopped in front of a residence in the 3400 block of Kelvin Road. The man exited the vehicle and walked to a gate. He stumbled and the deputy grabbed him by his wrist. Deputies attempted to place him in handcuffs but he became combative. During a brief struggle, Knipe received a laceration to the right side of his face and to both wrists. Medical responded but the suspect refused to answer medical questions, so he was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center where he was treated and medically released. Knipe was arrested without further incident. A blood sample was taken from Knipe to be submitted to the DPS Crime Lab for further analysis. A search of the vehicle revealed an empty beer can and a 30-pack of beer with one beer missing. A records check showed Knipe to have a suspended driver's license. He was transported booked into the Mohave County Jail.
