KINGMAN - The Arizona Game and Fish Department's Kingman regional office will discuss fast-flying, high-energy hummingbirds from 6:30-7:30 p.m Thursday, July 1, at the Mohave County Library in Kingman as part of the Summer Wildlife Series.

The library, with seating capacity of 52, is located at 3269 Burbank.

John Kraft, non-game specialist at the Kingman office, will conduct the presentation. "I enjoy doing presentations like this," Kraft said. "Hummingbirds are an exciting topic to discuss. They have a unique lifestyle that has produced unique adaptations. They're really different in terms of birds. The way they fly puts a lot of demands on their bodies."

Kraft will discuss hummingbird anatomy, physiology, behavior, ecology, distribution and conservation, with a focus on those in Arizona and in the Kingman area. Kraft will also discuss how to create the ideal backyard habitat to attract hummingbirds.
