TV district switches NBC affiliate to digital feed

KINGMAN - Mohave County Television District on Monday transitioned NBC affiliate KPNX Channel 12 out of Phoenix from analog to digital broadcast.

"We just completed the transition of Phoenix Public Broadcasting Service's KAET Channel 8 earlier this month," said Assistant to Mohave County Manager Yvonne Orr, who is also County Television District manager. "And now, on Monday, Channel 12 will be transitioned to digital broadcast."

Residents who have a digital television converter box or digital-ready television will be able to receive this station once they have re-scanned their digital setup, Orr said. "Residents must reconfigure their converter boxes or digital televisions each time a new channel goes digital to receive that signal."

Residents who receive television signals via satellite or cable services are not impacted by these changes.

Future updates will be provided via news releases and on the Mohave County Web page at, then select "departments," "county manager," and finally "DTV."

The complete transition to digital in the district "will take a while," Orr said.
