Obituary:Douglas Alan Critchett
Douglas Alan Critchett died at the age of 80 in Kingman on March 16, 2010. Doug was born on March 18, 1929, in Shelby, Mich. He graduated from the Whitehall Michigan Schools in 1947. He graduated from Ferris College in Michigan with a pharmaceutical degree. He worked in several drug chains throughout Michigan and Arizona. He retired from Albertson's in 1995 in Kingman.
He married Jane Louise Reed in 1953 at Central Methodist Church, where they were baptized and members in Muskegon, Mich. Jane passed away in 1961; surviving children are Beth, Scott and Brian. He married Lonnie Bourdon in 1962; they had one child, Lydia. He adopted her four children, Susan, Sandra, Shirley and David. He married Doris Ogren in 1970.
He loved the outdoors and boating; he also loved Big Band music. His family was very important to him but due to declining health he spent the last two years of his life at the Gardens Care Center in Kingman. He loved all the staff and was cared for as family. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving him are his wife, Doris and her children, Mike (Kathy), Brenda and Jeff Ogren; daughter, Beth (Denny) Hilliard; grandson, Robert (Michelle) Hilliard, great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Latosha, Kasandra, Robbi, Armand and Trina; grandson, Michael (Kimberly) Hilliard; great-grandchildren, Brittney, Brendon, Dylan, Devin, Cheyanne and Makayla Hilliard; granddaughter, Jane (Jeff) Miller; great-grandson, Skylyr Miller; son, Scott (Deborah) Critchett; grandchildren, Allison and Spencer Critchett; son Brian (Annette) Critchett; grandchildren, Mandy (Don) Wilson and Sara (Terence) Brown; and two great-grandchildren in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is also survived by three siblings, Marjorie Kobzeff of Pleasanton, Texas, Robert Critchett of Lima, Ohio and Donna (Dick) Will of Whitehall, Minn., and numerous nieces and nephews.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, at the LDS Church, Whitecliffs Ward, 610 Eastern St., Kingman, where his wife attends. He will be buried at the Phoenix Veterans' Cemetery.
