Molester could get 100 years in prison
KINGMAN - A Kingman man faces more than 100 years in prison after being convicted Tuesday of sexual conduct and attempted sexual conduct with a minor.
After a week of testimony, a jury found Robert Patrick Monahan, 37, guilty of three counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of attempted sexual conduct with a minor. He faces a minimum of 110 years in prison. A sentencing hearing is set for June 1.
According to prosecutor Megan McCoy, the abuse began before the family moved to Kingman in 2001, when the victim was 11. The victim is now 20.
It began with Monahan making the girl, who is paralyzed and wheelchair-bound from an car accident, watch pornographic movies. It later progressed to sexual intercourse while her mother was working the graveyard shift.
Monahan was sentenced to intensive probation in 2003 after he pleaded guilty to touching two girls during a sleepover.
