Trailhead access closed
Road work on U.S. 93 impacts Coyote Pass

KINGMAN - The U.S. 93 access to the Coyote Pass Trailhead for the Monolith Gardens Trail within the Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area, is temporarily closed for the construction of acceleration and deceleration lanes and other access improvements. The Coyote Pass access is on U.S. 93 on the southwest border of Kingman.

Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The project is a partnership among the Bureau of Land Management, Arizona Department of Transportation, and the Federal Highway Administration.

The improvements are intended to make access to the trailhead safer and easier by paving the access lanes and removing a gate, which will be replaced with a cattle guard. The alternate trailhead located on Metwell Drive in Kingman will remain open as will the remaining trails within the Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area.

For more information regarding trails, access and recreational opportunities within the Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area, call the BLM Kingman Field Office at (928) 718-3700.
