Vernon Irvine

Vernon R. Irvine journeyed to meet the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010. He was born in Columbus, Mo., Aug. 30, 1929; he was a loving husband, father and friend to many. He enjoyed dancing, travel, playing pool and bowling. His favorite dogs were Snoopy and Coco, and his cat, Scooter.

He came to Kingman in 2005 after retiring. He left behind his wife, Wanda; daughter, Joyce (Teddy); sons, Bill (Chris) and Ray; brothers, Charles (Edith) and Frank (Thelma); sister, Nellie; daughters-in-law, Cathy, Elaine and Julie; and sister-in-law, Mary. He also left grandchildren, Leonard, Victor, Vicki, Phillip, Matthew (Shalena), Melissa (John), Aaron (Heather), Barbara, Tyler, Katelyn, Jessica (David), Kristian (William II), Jackie, Stephanie, Jamie, Heather (David), Jennifer, David, Isaiah, Alexander and Shannon. He left great-grandchildren, Izabella, Mariah, Ayden, Elizabeth, Justin, Abegail, Samarrah, Kyle, Tyler, Robert, Brianna, Ethan, Dylan, William III, Kayden and Krystin; nephews, Karl, Gerald, David, Richard, David, Marshall, Matthew, Michael, Danny, Richard, John (and families); and nieces, Teresa, Marie, Wanda, Carmen, Linda, Rella (and families).

Preceding him in death were his father, John D.; mother, Pearl E.; brother, John H; son, James D; son Vernon L; grandson, Tyler; and great-granddaughter, Amber.

He will be buried at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City, NV 89005, and a memorial in Whittier, Calif., will be in December. In lieu of flowers, Vernon asked for donations in his name to New Hope Hospice, Kingman. Please call (866) 335-4673 for an address.
