The Kingman Quilters Guild presented its annual "Quilts of Valor" event to honor wounded veterans at the Mohave Museum of History and Arts Saturday. Guild members, who are all volunteers, make quilts to give to veterans injured in the line of duty. Their goal is to provide some comfort and "a tangible reminder that the service, sacrifice and valor of our local wounded service members will always be remembered." Wanda Hepburn, Margie Huber and Bonner Maxfield were members of the Quilts of Valor Committee this year. Also contributing to the effort Saturday was the Mohave Museum; Don Olin and the U.S. Marine Corps League Color Guard Detachment 887; Chaplain Tom Hanlon of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 975; Diane Schrieber, pianist; Pat Campagnuolo, soloist; and John Miller, photographer. The Guild would like to honor additional wounded veterans in the future. For more information, contact Wanda at (928) 757-8023.
