Three people escaped serious injury after an accident on Stockton Hill Road in front of the Mohave Mental Health offices Wednesday afternoon. Police say the 18-year-old driver of a sedan was on Robinson Avenue crossing Stockton Hill when she clipped the back passenger side of a full-size van which was headed north on Stockton Hill. The force of the hit knocked the van on its side, where, according to witnesses, it skidded for a brief distance. The passenger car continued down Robinson before hitting a car parked in Mohave Mental Health's side parking lot. Kingman Fire Battalion Chief said a 70-year-old male and his 62-year-old wife ended up on top of each other in the passenger seat after the van landed on its side. The man refused medical attention at the scene, while the wife was extricated from the vehicle with minor injuries. The 18-year-old female driver of the sedan was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center as a precaution. She was cited by police for failure to yield.
