In Memory Of: Kay Leone Marcum
Kay L. Marcum, age 76, an 11-year resident of Golden Valley and Mohave Valley, went to be with the Lord on Monday afternoon, Sept. 20, 2010, in Kingman. Kay was born Dec. 27, 1933, in Santa Monica, Calif., to Clifford E. and Esther R. (Swenson) Ganow.
She grew up in Inglewood, Calif., and graduated from Inglewood High School. She moved to Sacramento, Calif., in 1980 where she met and married her husband, David Leon Marcum. She was a people person and would talk to everyone. Kay loved to garden, and raised the biggest squash you can image. She truly loved the Lord and studied her Bible every day.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Esther Ganow; and her sister, Jo Ann Ganow. Kay is survived by her husband of 28 years, David; son, Marvin Harkins; daughter, Deborah (Bill) Loew; grandchildren, Heather Loew and Michael (Jackie) Loew; stepdaughter, Lorrie Marcum; stepsons, David Jr. (Caree) Marcum and Darrell (Debbie) Marcum; and step-grandchildren, David Marcum III, Darrell Marcum, Ariel Marcum and Charles Marcum. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Schmidt, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be missed so much for her humor and feistiness.
Visitation will be at noon and the funeral service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Golden Valley Assembly of God Church, 3355 N. Magma Road, Golden Valley. A graveside service will be at Mountain View Cemetery, 1301 Stockton Hill Road in Kingman, directly after the funeral. Pastor David McLane will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, Kingman.
