News Briefs: Tuesday, July 19, 2011

In an effort to reduce southbound traffic congestion at the intersection of Stockton Hill Road and Beverly Avenue, the Arizona Department of Transportation and the city of Kingman will restripe the intersection from midnight Tuesday through early Wednesday morning. Crews will place crosshatch lines in the middle of the intersection to alert motorists that they should not block the busy intersection when traffic backs up from the traffic signal at I-40 and Stockton Hill. Intermittent lane closures will be necessary and the speed limit will be reduced in the work zone. Drivers are reminded to proceed through the work zone with caution, be alert for flaggers, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

Mohave Wireless is teaming up with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kingman to raise funds. A texting campaign called 5 for $5 will allow Mohave Wireless customers the opportunity to donate $5 by texting YES 4545 from their cell phones.
