Lunch & Learn will focus on hearing loss
KINGMAN - Dr. Katie Brown, Au. D., will discuss "Hearing Loss and Prevention" when Kingman Regional Medical Center hosts Lunch & Learn starting at noon June 15 in the Del E. Webb Wellness Center Conference Rooms.
Brown is a trained audiologist from the University of Arizona, working in the Dizziness and Balance Center located in the Medical Professional Building on the KRMC campus.
Dizziness and balance disorders are very common, affecting one out of three people. Dizziness or unsteadiness can affect one's ability to carry out even the most minor tasks such as walking or driving. People who suffer from dizziness and balance problems are at an increased risk of falling. In fact, nearly 300,000 hip fractures result from balance-related falls every year. Also, balance-related falls account for one-half of accidental deaths in the population over age 65.
Lunch & Learn seminars are free. Participants bring their own lunch and KRMC provides a beverage and dessert. To ensure enough seating and desserts, please contact KRMC's Public Relations at 681-8514 to make a reservation.
