Education: Student Rotarian Heather Borgard
Heather Borgard, 17, a 2011 Kingman High School graduate, was recently selected as a Student Rotarian by the Kingman Rotary Club. She is the daughter of Mark and Elizabeth Borgard of Kingman. Heather said she was honored to be one of the few selected as student rotarian and added, "From what I've seen, this club is very generous to the community." Heather took part in the Renaissance Club that awards academic achievement. She was a member of the National Honor Society and has been since her sophomore year. She was on the cross-country team this year and track and field this year. She was president of the art club, and in the summer of 2009, was involved in the COYOTE program where she learned valuable job skills and gained experience in leadership and fundraising. The topic of Heather's presentation to the members of the Rotary Club was her passion for art. To further her education, Heather plans to start at a four-year university, most likely Arizona State University or the University of Arizona. She is planning a dual major in biology and art. Her career plans are to either research diseases or become some type of artist.
