Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Thomas Michael Zempel, 45, of Golden Valley Tuesday for production of marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, felonies, along with disorderly conduct per domestic violence and criminal damage per domestic violence, misdemeanors. Deputies contacted the reporting party of a domestic violence incident at the Sheriff's Office. The 55-year-old female said Zempel, her roommate, damaged a laptop when he threw it on the ground earlier that day at their residence in the 3200 block of North Bryce Road. Deputies responded to the residence and allegedly found a marijuana plant approximately 2 feet tall in the living room. They also reportedly saw two partially burnt marijuana cigarettes on the coffee table and a jar containing marijuana. Deputies contacted Zempel and questioned him about the marijuana. He allegedly said that he was not going to insult the deputy's intelligence, adding that he knew what it was and the deputy knew what it was. Zempel was arrested without incident, transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Todd Jeffrey Bray, 30, of Kingman Tuesday for felony possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4300 block of Bank Street around 9 p.m. and contacted Bray, the driver. Deputies reportedly observed Bray to be extremely nervous. A K9 handler was summoned and the dog alerted his handler to the vehicle. Deputies allegedly found a glass pipe with burnt residue and a plastic bag containing a white crystal substance, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Bray was arrested without incident, transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
