Obituary: Loretta Nadine Starr
Loretta N. "Mickey" Starr, age 74, of Golden Valley died at Kingman Regional Medical Center on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011.
Mickey was born at Ronda, W.Va., on July 9, 1936, daughter of William and Clora Payne. She was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and retired as Vice President of Wells Fargo Bank. Mickey lived in Golden Valley for many years, where she was active in the American Legion.
Mickey is survived by Artie Phinney, her spouse and best friend; granddaughters, Sahra, Jennifer and Chrissy; and grandson, Hayden, of the home. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Stephen, Avalyn, Martin and Amira, as well as by siblings, other relatives and many close friends.
Mickey enjoyed worldwide traveling, playing bingo, reading, writing poetry and going to the river. She was spunky, smart and generous.
In her words, "Life is not always coming in from the storm. Sometimes it's learning to dance in the rain. I'm still dancing!"
