Kingman Photos: Kingman Gets KABAM-ed

Kingman Mayor John Salem issued a proclamation Friday morning at the City Council Chambers declaring May 14th "KABAM! Festival Day." From left to right are Kayley Johnston, Bruce Carter, Robert Shupe, Mayor Salem, Kristi Turman, Larry Chapman and Kathy McGehee, all with the Mohave County Library or KABAM. KABAM (Kingman Area Books Are Magic) is an annual book and poetry festival, which features local and national authors. The main event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Metcalfe Park. There will be book panels and discussion, book signings, vendors and other entertainment for all ages. There is also a meet-n-greet scheduled for 5:30- 6:30 p.m. Friday downtown at Fifth and Beale streets and then a Poetry Slam there from 6:30 -10 p.m. There are also many book-signings, author forums and other activities planned the week before KABAM.
