Bullhead PD working the river this weekend

BULLHEAD CITY - The Bullhead City Police Department's Waterways Unit will begin patrolling the Colorado River this Memorial Day weekend.

Most of the boating laws result in criminal citations, rather than civil citations. A person found guilty of Extreme Operating Under the Influence could receive a fine up to about $4,600 and a minimum 90 days in jail.

Boats are required to carry several safety devices, including a personal flotation device for each person onboard. Children 13 years and under must wear a life jacket. Everyone on a personal watercraft must wear a secured personal flotation device.

Bullhead City Police Boating Officers will be patrolling the waterways through Labor Day weekend. For more information on boat safety, contact the Bullhead City Police Department's Community Oriented Policing Problem Solving Unit at (928) 763-1110.
