Repaving on U.S. 93 finished for now
ADOT to return in the spring to apply final pavement layer

KINGMAN - The Arizona Department of Transportation has completed the first phase of the project to repave a 7.5-mile segment of U.S. 93 from Grandview Avenue in downtown Kingman to Ranch Road near So-Hi Estates. Crews have finished applying the initial layer of asphalt pavement. The project also included repaving the State Route 68 traffic interchange ramps, and installing new curb and sidewalk on Beale Street.

ADOT will return in the spring to apply the final layer of pavement. The work is expected to last approximately two weeks.

The top layer of pavement will be rubberized asphalt, which improves the quality of the roadway for an overall smoother ride. Rubberized asphalt can only be applied under certain temperature conditions to ensure it adheres to the first layer of asphalt properly. Weather conditions are ideal between March 15 and May 15 when temperatures begin to increase.
