Kingman Letters: A vote for Robin Gordon
To the citizens of Kingman, I have known Robin Gordon for several years. She is a kind, generous person. She is also a businesswoman, and in today's economy, that is a very tough job indeed.
As many of you are aware, she is running for re-election to the City Council. I feel she would be well worth keeping on the Council.
Robin is very family oriented. She has proven this during her term on the Council by fighting to keep the downtown pool open. She is a huge supporter of activities that families can do together.
As a small business owner, she understands the need for a balanced budget. However, she knows that cuts cannot always come at the expense of employees. She fought to keep the city employees from further cuts during this economic downturn.
She is also progressive in terms of growth without being extreme. Growth is necessary, but must also be managed responsibly. This is evidenced by her position on personal wind generators. Her position of allowing their use, but making sure there is sufficient room for safety concerns shows this.
I live in the county, so cannot vote. However, I follow what happens in the city as what happens there often shows the county what direction to take. With persons such as Robin leading us, I can see a bright, sustainable future for everyone.
