Kingman Letter: Politicians and religion

In answer to Al Koffman's article in the Miner on April 12 that a vote for Santorum "will not only have the government in your face, but also the Catholic Church in your bedroom," Mr. Koffman must be under 30. Does he not remember John F. Kennedy? He was Catholic and no such bad rhetoric was ever used against him. Guess it is only OK if the candidate is a Republican!

Mr. Koffman, your remarks about "every man, woman, and child, regardless of faith" would be issued a set of rosary beads which would contain a "'bug' that would inform the church/government that you are not faithfully using these beads" is disgusting. You also stated, "you better use these beads or you will get a late night visit by some guys wearing funny hats." As I recall, the only men wearing funny hats that came to people's homes in the middle of the night were the Ku Klux Klan. Hate to tell you this, they weren't Catholic, they didn't even accept Catholics as members.

As to your comments on Romney being a Mormon, so is Harry Reid. Again, it would appear that being a Mormon is OK only if you are a Democrat.

You state, "just vote for Obama." Apparently you would rather have a man who believes in Reverend Jeremiah Wright's ranting and raving to hate all whites and hate America. Great choice!

Before you unleash on the candidates personal religious beliefs you should at least try to get your facts straight.
