Club Photo: Mohave County Community and Family Interest Clubs

The Mohave County Council of the Community Family and Interest Clubs held their spring meeting and luncheon on April 10, 2012, at the Golden Corral. Club members had lunch and raffle tickets were sold as part of our fundraisers for the scholarship fund. A number of very nice gifts had been donated by the club members to be raffled off to the lucky winners. The Administrative Assistant from the Mohave County Extension office, Vickie Coombs, informed the CFIC members of the activities and changes that took place during the year at the Extension office in Kingman. Meadview Quail member and Past President Gladys Burk, installed the Mohave County Council Officers for their next 2-year term. They are; Linda Corona for President; Carole Duran for Vice President; Marion Doyle for Secretary; and Betty Underwood for Treasurer. The 'theme' that Gladys used for the installation was to present a variety of cleaning items to assist each officer with their duties. Nancy Kastor, Scholarship Chairperson, announced the names of the recipients who will be awarded a Scholarship. There are seven Mohave County High School seniors who will each receive a $1,000 scholarship from the CFIC clubs. They will be presented to the students at 'Awards' night. Each club president gave a report on their activities and programs during the past year, including fund raising projects and donations to other charities that had been chosen.
