Updated Obituary: John Joseph Guillot
John Joseph Guillot, of Kingman went home to his Lord on Saturday, April 7, 2012, in Kingman. John was born May 27, 1933, in Lafayette, La. John served in the United States Army, a fact he was very proud of.
John retired from the Kingman Unified School District where he worked for many years as a custodian.
After some years of retirement John became the night watchman at the Mohave County Fairgrounds. John was also a member and volunteer at the Mohave County Fairgrounds.
John had a lot of hobbies that kept him busy. He enjoyed camping, fishing, kayaking and canoeing. He also enjoyed watching western movies, collecting guns as well as collecting anything to do with medal detecting and mining. He enjoyed meeting new people, and loved spending time with friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Guillot; son, Edward Guillot; stepdaughter, Jewel Glotkowski; great-grandson, Erik Glotkowski; and parents, Russel and Laura Guillot.
John is survived by the following: sons, John S. Guillot (Peggy) and James Guillot; stepsons, Donald Earley (Heidi) and Ronald Earley; grandchildren, Jesse, Nic, Rosalie, Jewelie, Shawn, Kori, Joseph, Samual and Danny; and great-grandchildren, Jesse, Clinton, Layla, Isaiah, Lea and Noah. John is also survived by his first wife and good friend, Viola Guillot, the mother of his children; and many nieces and nephews.
John will be greatly missed. A memorial for John will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Hilltop Foursquare Church, 2215 Emerson Ave., Kingman.
