Driver ticketed but not charged in Kingman pastor's fatal crash
The 83-year-old driver involved in the crash that killed a local pastor Monday was cited following the accident for failure to yield the right of way.
Kingman Police Capt. Rusty Cooper said Mamerta Turner of Kingman was making a left turn into the shopping plaza in the 3200 block of Stockton Hill Road when she struck Howard Pennington, 57, who was northbound on Stockton Hill Road on his custom motorcycle.
Pennington was thrown from the bike. He was not wearing a helmet, although Cooper said investigators believe a helmet would not have changed the chances of survival in this incident.
Cooper said that Turner was cited but not criminally charged in the accident. He added that drugs and alcohol were not involved.
