Leah Jones of Kingman was named to the Fall 2011 Dean's List at Montana State University Billings. The Dean's List is an honor roll of undergraduate students who earn 12 or more credits with a grade point average of 3.50 or better.
Megan Elizabeth Schneider of Kingman has been named to the 2011 Fall Semester Dean's List at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa. She is recognized for outstanding academic achievement in her studies in Interior Design. She has earned a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.
Joanna Joe, age 18, a senior at Kingman High School was recently chosen as student Rotarian by the Kingman Rotary Club. She said, "I feel honored and would like to thank the Rotary for selecting me as Student Rotarian."
Since freshman year, Joanna has been a part of the Kingman High School band program and recently the drum major of the marching band. She has also been a part of the KHS girl's varsity soccer team. She has received various awards in the math and sciences in addition to be involved in various other clubs during high school. She also plays piano and has done so since kindergarten.
For her presentation to the members of the Rotary Club she explained her "Journey to Drum Major."
Joanna plans to attend either MIT for physics or UofA in either physics or chemistry. She plans on becoming an ophthalmologist.
